I've been part of the OAS family for over 12 years, drawn by the magic, the people, and the unyielding spirit of adventure that keeps me connected to this community. As a Deaf person, communication barriers are a constant. In the outdoors, movement becomes a way to connect; when we're on the move together, we're communicating. It's a form of connection.
 

Then there's CamPAH, an annual weekend program facilitated entirely in American Sign Language where communication is fully accessible. It's a one-of-a-kind program on a national level, creating a space where Deaf athletes and coaches return year after year. Many athletes grow with the program, starting at age 10 until they age out as young adults.
 

CamPAH is only a sliver of what OAS offers year-round. This same sense of connection and belonging is something I know shines through in every experience OAS provides, from community days, private lessons to customized programs.
