We're drawn to the unyielding spirit of adventure, unity and communication access. As Deaf folks we are too familiar with communication barriers. In the outdoors, movement becomes a way to connect; when we're on the move together, we're communicating. It's a form of connection. Together with our allies, we're celebrating ASL on the slopes - aka Moving Hands!
Oregon Adaptive Sports will be celebrating the 12th year of CamPAH, an annual weekend program facilitated entirely in American Sign Language through OAS where communication is fully accessible. It's a one-of-a-kind program on a national level, creating a space where Deaf athletes and coaches return year after year. Many athletes grow with the program, starting at age 10 until they age out as young adults.
We believe in this program but also know that CamPAH is only a sliver of what OAS offers year-round. This same sense of connection and belonging is something that shines through in every experience OAS provides, from community days, private lessons to customized programs. Nurturing this magic is not just our passion but our mission. Will you support our mission and make a donation?
